Overstock.com has started accepting Bitcoins, making it the first of its kind.
Since December, Patrick Byrne, Overstock’s open-minded executive, has told everyone that sometime in the next six months, his company will take over Bitcoine. But it turned out that he was an impatient man, and already last Tuesday the first sample transaction was made using a Bitcoin payment. The services of the San Francisco startup Coinbase were used for this purpose. From that day on, Overstock engineers have worked hard to get the store up and running. Byrne wanted to be the first and worked hard for it.
A few minutes ago (09.01.14 13:47) Overstock.com started accepting Bitcoins for every purchase. Now you can buy Bitcoins from TVs to clothes, from bar equipment to mixers.
